The new financial trading room is a state of the art laboratory where students and faculty research business firms and security pricing trends, and develop investment portfolios. The trading room is part of Finance and Financial Services Programs and is found in the first floor lobby of ISU's College of Business. The trading room and its operations are funded in part by the Minas Center for Investment and Financial Education and the Lilly Endowment, Inc.

With a grand opening in November 2007, the trading room features multiple stock tickers and three video data walls with dynamic financial information from Rise Vision, along with access to multiple professional financial databases, and 24 student trading workstations, each with two 19 monitors.

The teaching station has a state of the art computer with two video projectors to display the instructors twin monitors and cable television. The teaching station also features a DVD player for videos.

Software includes Compustat (North America and Global financial historical data), CRSP (Center for Research in Stock Prices), Telemet Orion (current market prices and research), and Financial Trading System (software for creating virtual markets under controlled conditions).
